About the author:
I am Sheridan Samano, founder and co-owner of Reefs to Rockies. I grew up in Dallas, Texas but moved to Colorado after graduating from Texas A&M University with a degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Science. Wanting to stay in Colorado, I attended graduate school at the University of Colorado – Denver where my studies focused on evolutionary ecology. As a dear friend once joked, you can sum it up by saying “Sheridan loves birds and pine cones”. That is true, but to be accurate, you can add an insatiable wanderlust and a desire to know everything I can about the flora and fauna in Colorado and around the world to the list. In addition to developing itineraries and guiding group trips for Reefs to Rockies, I am a Professor of Biology at the Community College of Aurora and an instructor for the Denver Botanic Gardens.
Sheridan,
Sarah Fazendin just sent me the leopard video you published. Really impressive. I’m one of the owners of Choroa Safaris and I noticed from your About Us that you graduated Texas A&M with a Wildlife and Fisheries degree. I’m class of ’95. Did a couple of years at A&M Galveston, then switched to Widlife and Fisheries and finished my last couple of years at main campus. What class were you?
Thanks,
Kerry
Hi Kerry,
Small world. I’m class of 95, too. I graduated in Dec, but left College Station to move back to Dallas in the summer of 95. Now in Denver. Are you still in Texas working with Choroa?
Dear Sheridan,
Greetings from Malawi.
Could you please allow me to use information and pictures from your trip report to Namibia with the Conservancy Safaris (January 2010) in a case study report? I am doing a case study on Torra Conservancy and will dully acknowledge your input.
Kind regards.
George
